Because organized narratives are dreadfully over-rated: - Had a lovely time last night at NW.  Charlie Vasquez organized a reading called She-Panic! - several writers of feminist erotica.  They were great, and the readings were VERRRRY interesting.  But I am still no closer to understanding the female libido, and will probably go to my grave that way. - But I did forget my glasses and my jewelry...

Not that you’d have any reason to know this, but I love bowling.  As it happens, our firm sponsored a charity bowling night a few nights ago…so I jumped at the chance to play.  (Having three young kids at home, only one of whom is really old enough to bowl, kind of reduces my opportunities…)  It was an early evening event, and I was thinking that if I had the chance and things...

Hello  - just thought I’d let everyone know that I have a web page up and running now!  It’s at www.ericacd.com. It’s a tumblr page that really is basically just an RSS feed of my blog and my flickr page.  So if you’re already reading those (and I guess you’re reading at leat 1/2 of them!) it may be more hassle than it’s worth - maybe I’m just creating...

…actually I am not sure it has ever happened.  I was walking by Ann Taylor in the mall today, and saw a dress that I immediately, hopelessly, instantly fell in love with.  Even more amazingly, they had it in my size.  And now it’s mine :) It’s a beautiful knee-length, cream color with light blue floral print.  It’s sleeveless but it should work perfectly with a cardigan.  I...

A recurring theme at MHB recently has been the notion that transness has gotten ahead of the language that describes it. Helen started a terrific thread called “transvestite”, and Vini came up with a great analogy about trans being akin to how a blacksmith sees metal: not the fixed material we perceive, but something malleable. I’m loving this thought that gender is something...

Black tights, often with some texture or pattern, and brown boots.  It would never have occured to me to do it, but I’m seeing it everywhere in the late winter.  Very interesting… sometimes it looks very sophisticated and sexy.  Sometimes it looks positively deranged.  But it’s a challenge and a thrill, and I am enjoying seeing the NYC women as they try to rock this look.

Loooooong night out en femme last night.  I am paying for it today, but it was worth it.  Brief trans-travelogue:  Dev dropped by the apartment to change.  As we hung out I spent a little time trying out a couple of outfits, including the cutest, shortest skirt I have ever worn (yes, I got pictures).  Decided that the skirt was definitely “clubwear only” and changed into a more...

I’ll say this for being a fairly narcissistic crossdresser.  I am getting much better at posing for photos in guy mode.  I just took the photo for the web page at my new firm.  In the past, I’d go through zillions of photos and hate them all.  (And don’t get me started about places like the DMV where I only get one chance.)  Today, I went in, pointed my head the right way, smiled...

OK.  I was doing some shopping (in boy mode) at Macy’s.  Yes, for unmentionables.  No, I am not going to describe them - you naughty naughty people ;) So I had my purchases and went to the register.  As the sales associate was folding my camisole, she looks at me and says “Well, I guess these aren’t for you!”  Not in a bad way - clearly a line to put an uncomfortable male...
